NGC 4273

Copyright  Mark Hanson

NGC 4273 and NGC 4281 are members of a small sub-group of the Virgo Cluster. In the image below, NGC 4273 is the face-on spiral near the center, while NGC 4281 is the larger elliptical galaxy to the north. The eastern spiral arm of NGC 4273 appears to be distorted a little, probably by the gravitational pull of NGC 4277 just to its left.
